New School = New Me

Hey guys,

I am going to a new school and at this school, I want to be known for my magic, but how should I go apon that?

My last school, I was very shy and I wasn't confident in my magic, I thought people would bug me or somthing like that, but now, I am not worried about that.

Well the obvious answer would be to just go and perform magic.

I wouldn't want to be completely known for my magic though. I would want people to know me as a person first. But it's your life.

I would want to be known as the super cool kid who does magic... NOT the dorky magic kid.

I'm not saying you are going to be the dorky magic kid, but there is a fine line between the two.

I would start off by not being afraid to meet people and throw that shyness out the window. A new school is a chance for new opportunity, and even a new you.

All in all, congrats in the move. But be careful not to make your art who you are. I hang out with a lot of magicians. The ones who just talk magic are NO fun, the ones who are funny without magic are the people I choose to hang out with the most.

Keep that in mind.

Well what i would do is that is there is a talent show join it do an amazing effect to start off with.I did D'lite Flight and everyone was was amazed in the audience.Take care

hmm good point, but i usualy put my magic and my hobbies into one,

ie. i ahve a routine where i involve my skateboard and some cards xD

Well first don't you otta meet people first? If you don't know anyone...you don't want to get nervous and mess up. That's not always that great even if it is an easy trick you've done for a long time. I say you should wait and meet new people, and wait untill people meet you and then say hey, you want to see something? Or anything. I would say stay away from performing right away. Wait at least 2-4 weeks minimum.

It doesn't matter what the people think of you. As long as you're yourself and comfortable with it. Then that let's people know who YOU are. Haha i sound like Edna Mode!

Really?! the kids at my school call me beast and like card beaster or something! =D or their like "Hey! its that beasting card beast!!!" loll i think its pretty funny

I used to be shy I am not anymore, except around girls I guess, but I don't perform magic in school, I am too afraid to mess up, I am trying to get that away from me, plus not to much time to perform magic and teachers will take my cards away if they see them. But basicly don't be shy, as stated above if you are funny everyopne will like you, thats working out pretty goodfor me, because I am a nerd, but I make people laugh and people think I am pretty cool. So basicly talk to someone and then say something like check this out and go into a couple magic tricks, and then go back to just like talking and hanging out

I would say work on your humor. It's for me, Magic and humor always go together. Also it should help with your being well liked and friendly skills

I'm also going to move in a few months and am going to start a whole new life. ( California to Georgia). I think you should join a magic club or something to get a few friends.
