New to flourishing and I need some advice...

Like the title sais, ive only been Flourishing for a few days (did it a few years back but not for a long time.) and ive been trying out a few one handed cuts like the charlier (spellcheck?) and a few fans. After I got that down I thaught id try the revolution cut.

I have VERY small hands (16cm from the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger.) and im asking for some advice. Is there anything I should know about like things that are impossible for me to do due to my hands or just some tips that would make it easier.

Thing with the revolution cut is after I cut the pack into two packets I cant for my life reach the top one with my ring finger, its just too short :(. If you've seen the trilogy you'll probably get what I mean.

Small hands is not an excuse, dude just look at Lee Asher and then tell me ... its all about practice, maybe for having small hands I'll take you longer to learn the moves but you still can get them down, just practice.

Id recommend you to get show of 1 and 2.

I know Lee Asher is a great magician and I myself am pretty good at magic aswell. Might be that I havnt looked but I havnt seen Lee do any advanced flourishing ( if im wrong please correct me ).
Ive read about the small hands thing and I know its not impossible but when it comes to the revolution cut ( I have learnt a few two handed ones with decent success sso I know they arnt really an issue ) what im saying is that I cant even reach the top packet. Ive tried different possitions on that palm but none of them really made it possible.

But like I said if anyone has a tip or advice id be happy to hear i but for now ill keep trying.

Oh and btw, my friend has showoff 1 and thats were I first saw the cut back in 2005 (I think it was).

You little stalker!
Small hands has never been a problem for me. Even if my hands arent big enough, with the right amount of practice, you can still get it. A perfect example is the scissor cut. When i first attempted it, i was like "Oh my god, you rhands has gotta be f***ing huge to do that!". But, i practiced it a few times after that and i found that if i keep practing streching my hands, it will eventaully be able to stretch far enough. And now i can do a decent scissor cut. I really suggest Xtreme beginnerz by De'vo. After that, i suggest you buy the Encyclopedia of Card Flourishes, which is pretty expensive ($75!!!) but it is a 500+ page book and everythings taught in great detail with tons of pictures(or so i'm told). Hope that helps.

Thanks, I have the Xtreme beginnerz. Actually my magic freak friend has it but he never watches it ^^

Every now and again, there may be a cut that is simply too big for your hands - I'd venture to say that it's possible - but for the most most most part, your hands can exercise and stretch like the other muscles, so for many that seem impossible, you'll be able to train your hands to stretch and get used to it. Good luck!

I've seen Lee Asher do a couple of very flashy cuts, not advanced flourising but not basic either.

The One handed revolution is not something you should expect to do immediately, it takes a while for your fingers to get used to stretching to the position needed to do the cut.

Yeah im new as well and need advice give it to me plz or else i cant impress peeps with my mad skillz.

Seriously, learn to use the . button.

Anyway, I am just starting flourishing as well, and I have been fairly successful with it. I have been able to do some flourishes, and I find that just working on random moves with moving the packets around helps a lot. It helps you get a knack for moving them as packets and for them staying together.
