Newspaper Prediction

I seen someone do a newspaper prediction effect where the spectator and performer stood back to back and they both tore their newspaper into pieces, and in the end they both tore the paper to the exact same picture, or word, or article or whatever it was. If anyone knows what I am talking about and has seen this effect performed or actually performs it, can you give me a good source to look up how to do the effect?

Same here...
I've only seen it in Criss Angel's "Back to School" episode where he does that with a school yearbook.

What about something like this?

Just a suggestion... I have no idea how it's done or where to learn it.

Tried Google?

Yea I looked everywhere. I was on the internet for a few days looking before I wrote this thread. You know what, nevermind, I think it just another one of those tricks that you will never learn how to do until you get a T.V. special... or get famous enough in magic to be able to hang around the pros all day talking about tricks.

That is sort of like the thing Mike Super did on Phenomenon with the dollar bill ad and the cookie. But Chris Angel said he was completely fooled. Which means that Chris used a stooge.

I too have only seen Angel do it. It was a neat effect but I've come to the conclusion that a lot of his mentalism effects are hard to come by, so I barely even try anymore.

Derren Brown does one at the end of his "Something Wicked This Way Comes" show, but more complicated.

He throws like 10 different newspapers into the crowd. Then he has a volunteer from the beginning of the show choose which newspaper to use. The volunteer chooses a page number, and then the person with that newspaper chooses to use that page or the page opposite it. They then rip the newspaper up into pieces and bring it onstage where the onstage volunteer looks through the pieces and finds a word. The word is written on a huge banner locked inside a briefcase that the volunteer had at her seat the whole show and there's another copy of the newspaper with the word circled on the same page inside.

He then goes on to do the Derren Brown false explanation where he shows clips from the show saying psychological hints like "choose page 14" mid-sentence.

It's a great show, haha.
