Pen Spinning Material...

So, a friend of mine called me today and started talking about how he wanted to pick up a neat little skill such as magic tricks. I asked if he would like me to teach him some stuff but he said: "No. I said LIKE magic tricks. I don't want to do magic."

"Well, then what?"

"Pen Spinning" He said.

I thought it was a cool idea and I told him i would see if any of the magicinas I talk to know of any material he might be able to purchase.

So, do any of you guys know about any books or DVD's that might help him?

Xtreme Beginnerz 2 has a pen-spinning section on it. You can also Google it to find a number of communities instructing each other on the how-to's.

Besides that, going over to Handlordz and the Superhandz forums should yield plenty of helpful advice.

You little stalker!
XB2 is the only English source for penspinning. There's also a japnese penspinning dvd.

Tell your friend he's really lucky cuz you can be a pro pen spinner without paying that much (although making pen mods will cost a couple dollars).

Go to here: http://www.youtube.com/user/akujinnoeso

He's the best PS teacher on youtube (penspinning is the opposite of magic when it comes to youtube. Youtube penspinning = good). He has a playlist of the 4 fundamental moves and their reverse versions, make sure your friend masters those first. Then he can move into harder stuff.

Penspinning, as hard as it may seem, does not take long to be good. You can look like a pro in 6 months. Basically every move is a knack, and its all down to practice. But with the right amount of patience, penspinning will be very easy.

Also, tell him to look up some pen mods. Some good beginner ones are:

RSVP V1
RSVP MX
Bictory Mod

So that should keep him busy for a while. If he has anymore problems or questions with penspinning, feel free to drop me a pm and i'll be glad to help.

Yes, penspinning is very fun and it keeps you occupied during boring classes. And since it's a pen, the teacher can't take it away from you. :D

Just, you know . . . avoid fountain pens. Some gel or liquid ink pens will leak from the centrifugal force as well. Try it slowly, then write with it. If it looks like more ink is flowing all of a sudden, you might want to be careful with that pen.

Been there, done that, paid the dry cleaning bill.
