Photoshop Effect?

Hey guys I have a quick question,

How do you do the effect on a picture where the picture is b&w, but something else, say the cards you are flourishing, are in color. I've seen it a lot, but can't seem to find any tutorials on it. Any help would be great!

Well You use Pen tool To cut around the cards.
2.press CTRL+I to Inverse the outline outside.
3.Desaturate the outside and then press CTRL+D and
your done.

P.S It think to inverse the pen tool line you need to press SHIFT+CTRL+I
I forgot.

Yes, or if it's just one solid colour, you can use the "magic wand" selection tool, this would work for areas which are just one shade of colour, so the pen would probably work better.

One more thing, after you pen tool the cards, you have to right click and make the seleciton before you select inverse (CTRL+SHIFT+I). Also, if you're unfamiliar with the pen tool and are perhaps unwilling to learn, you can just use the polygonal lasso tool too.

Well if you are in photoshop here is how

- Have 1 layer with you background, or what ever you want in b&w
- Make it b&w
- Make a new layer with text in color!!
