Pick Pocketing Skills in Magic

Alright, so I've been looking to use pick pocketing to my advantage in performances, specifically to load things onto other people for impossible location, or cards across effects (or whatever). What would be the best way to go about learning them? I'm thinking of either picking up Greg Wilson's Fake Pocket to learn about basic Pick Pocketing and use that to load stuff onto people, or getting Paul Harris's Las Vegas Leap to load things into the back pocket of other people.

What would you guys recommend?

I agree with that suggestion, actually. Just let some friends know you're learning a new skill and you might occasionally try to do it and you'll give whatever you get right back.

Powa.academy has a good course on pick pocketing as well. James Brown is very good.

Fake Pocket is a great routine.

With a trick like Las Vegas Leaper you can make it look like you have pick pocketed them as well.

There is a big difference in doing pickpocket magic on the street and doing it in performance. You won't really learn how to load anything on Fake Pocket. I'd look into Eric Jones's body loading sequence, coin on shoulder (I'll plug James Brown again right here), or Daniel Madison has a bold card to spectator's pocket that you might look into. Also, there was the very popular pick pocketing effect put out by Paul Harris called Street Thief. It gives you everything you need to load something into their pocket and look like you stole something else.

Thanks! I'll look into all of those. I think I Might try just loading stuff on people though.

Two words: Apollo Robbins.

Haha! I'll add to the list with my favorites.

I love Bob Arno. He's bold and brash. Much of his routine is based on the incredible act of Dominique Risbourg.

Then there's the man of steal himself, James Freedman.

These guys are great to watch perform. Many of these guys will use gimmicks and false pick pocketing to enhance their skills (pm me about Mac King's watch steal). I think the main two guys that teach the stuff is still Greg Wilson and James brown.
