Places other than the mall to perform/film?

Hey guys,

for the past week me and a friend have been planning to go to a mall tonight and film some performances (he's not a magician). For some reason I didn't think to contact the mall until today when my mom did, they nixed our plans because they don't allow it on friday or saturday nights... dang it...


Sooo... where are some other places we might could go. There are some outdoor shopping malls here but it is quite cold here and people won't be walking around outside very much.

I'm just looking for a place to go film and do "Street Magic" (I hate that term)...

pick up your local newspaper and look for festivals and stuff. i live near a big city so theres somthing happening almost every weekend that i go to and perform. During the summer we have a street thats usally has performers. so if you have a popular street in your town where tourist often go and its very buisy on the weekend you can perform there. andrew mayne also has a PDF on his site called 50 ways to make money doing magic or somthing similar to that. i havnt read mine in a while but i think he has a couple ideas to where about to perform and possibly make cash to. hope that helped.

Go to the busiest part of your city. I know I HATE performing at malls, in fact, I hate malls in general. So I head to downtown Montreal and perform to the plethora of people walking around. It's always PACKED.

Just go to a busy part of town.

To answer the question about why not wait, we're teens (no transportation other than parents yet) and have been planning tonight for a week... We kinda need to go tonight.

Outside/Lobby of a Movie theater. It IS Friday and Saturday night.

Any kind of school activity (Is School in yet?)

If you have a downtown area, that might be an option.

A local coffee shop (You did say it was cold outside).

OR just throw a party tonight or tomorrow, invite your friends and make them watch you do magic tricks for the camera.

I'm just trying to be a problem solver.

Coffe shop is also a really good idea, people are usually open to that kind of stuff there.
