Pressure Fan Problems

I'm having a few problems when trying to practice the pressure fan. I begin with the deck resting on my index and middle finger, I place my thumb above. And with my right hand I grip the deck with the index, middle, ring on top and thumb on bottom. I start by bowing the deck downward and continuing in a circular motion. The problem I have is when I start the card on top of the deck stays behind. And when I somehow mange to get the card on top to stay with the rest of the deck the cards in the middle shoot out. Also when I sometimes get halfway through the dan the cards stop at the base of my palm, is this because of the positioning of the cards? Any tips would do. Thanks a lot in advance!

In order to not have that one card pop out, don't grip the deck hard with your left thumb (if you are a righty) until you are a little farther into the flourish instead using the rim of your hand that the cards naturally rest on. Mind you, I'm no expert at the pressure fan. My fan always comes out ovular instead of in a half circle. If anyone could help with this I'd appreciate it. The funny thing is I can do the really difficult fans (carnahann fan, curly-cue) but my basic fans aren't very good.
