Hi,
I'm new, so first, I'd like to introduce myself to you.
I'm Daniel, 18, from Germany and I'm doing magic for about a year now.:)

I'm quite good at handling cards but I have problems with the most basic move ever:
The Overhand Shuffle.
Everytime I practice it, the cards slip out of the deck and mostly they fall off when I'm getting a little bit faster. I need your help, because I read the "Royal Road To Card Magic"-chapter multiple times and watched tutorials on youtube, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Also the cards are never flush after I completed the shuffle. I always have to pat it, to correct the position of the cards.

I uploaded a performance of it on youtube, so you can see, how I execute the move:

Thank you,

Daniel :)

This may or may not help but try placing your index finger on the side where all of your other fingers are. The side opposite your thumb.

You're definitely pressing WAY too hard with your left thumb, thats why the cards fan. Use your right ring finger on the side of the packet as well. Don't be afraid to grip right hand packet in a deeper grip. Experiment. Practice. I also like to think of it as a sort of like sideways hindu shuffle. Btw, it looks cool when you do it fast. Your fingers are curled, try to relax, learning shuffles is difficult. Hope this helps.
