Prophet :: Review

Prophet is, to put it simply, a fantastic trick. Here's why.

Note: I use the number system. Every section gets a ?/5. It is tallied up at the end.

Start: Trailer - 4/5

As far as trailers go, very nice. Was slightly unexplanatory, but that's okay.

Intro: Background - 5/5

Nothing to say here except.. MACS RULE!!

Performances - 4.5/5

They showed how amazed people could be, but the performances weren't as in depth as I had hoped for.

The Gimmick: Overview & History - 3/5

It's a little confusing, but genius. I'm amazed somebody could think this up. You'll have to ruin a few bills, so you'd want to look over it first, but it's not too bad. Plus, you have to be extremely careful and have to be almost perfect. Good luck! :)

Construction - 3.5/5

It takes a while to do. You'll have to prepare in advance by a few days if you're planning an event or something. Plus, it's not an easy task. Most of the supplies you can pick up at a local store for a few bucks, if you don't already have them in your house.

The Handling: Overview - 4/5

The trick is extensive and requires a lot of practice and memorizing the moves and stuff. However, it's not very decieving. You can do it from most angles and lighting.

Handling (has another name, but won't spoil it): Display - 5/5

Fairly easy to do, isn't too bad.

Handling (has another name, but won't spoil it): Display 2 - 3.5/5

I didn't like this one. It wasn't taught well and is somewhat confusing.

Handling (has another name, but won't spoil it): Change - 5/5

Very clever. Not hard to do.

Handling (has another name, but won't spoil it): Change 2 - 5/5

An easier version of the previous change, but looks better and may be difficult of some people to execute.

Final Thoughts (in DVD) - 4/5

Could have spent a few more minutes speaking about the other applications and such.. but good overall.

I'll leave the bonuses for you to explore. :)

Bonus: Who Is Tom Isaacson? - 5/5

Bonus: Psychology of the Change - 4.5/5

Final Thoughts: My Thoughts (not overall "likeness") - 4/5

Phenomenal trick, explained well, doesn't have very many camera angles, but it's easy to know what to do. Some people complained about the camera going blurry for a second or two, but that's gone. In place of it, is this irritating slow motion thing. I guess I understand why it's there, but it can be pretty annoying.

Simply amazing. For 24.95, it's worth it. Go get it!

Total: 61/70

Thanks,

I hope I'm not revealing anything by saying that in the DVD, it is suggested you have them to the left of you for one of the changes. Or is it turning to the left?

It's pretty much angle proof, however. As long as people are not below you, and better if not behind you, you're good to go.
