Question about Originality

I recently invented a variation of Dan Hauss's "Stir Crazy" that is much cleaner and uses a completely different gimmick (in Stir Crazy, the performer takes a straw and, as he twists it, the stripes visually begin to twist as well). If I were to submit this to The Wire, would it be rejected just because of how similar it is to a recent effect? I plan to make this a very in-depth download, so I'l like to know whether or not it will be rejected due to lack of originality before I put a lot of time into it.

Thanks,
Peter.

No, it wont be rejected because of the plot of the effect. If you look at Biteme by Dalton Wayne and Regeneration by Blake Vogt they are virtually the same effect but they have very different methods. The method needs to be unique. Other things that could get it rejected is if it was not filmed in a somewhat professional manner or if the teaching is not clear.
