The sad news of Ricky Jay's death has me reflecting on how much I enjoyed his work & his presence.
I loved seeing him perform on TV. In movies, he often caught me by surprise just by being there, especially in his acting roles with PT Anderson & David Mamet. He could pop up anywhere: I remember how delighted I was to see his dice exhibit at the Museum of Jurassic Technology.
