Got Dangerous yesterday. I was looking foreword to see what Madison, a team of magical advisors and a load of money can do? Overall, not bad, however I have one MAJOR grievance. After viewing the teasers, I was excited to learn Angle Zero. What I believed was the signature piece of the product. It defiantly looked the most impressive on the demos anyway.

How cheated do I feel?

In the DVD Madison doesn’t even explain how he got the corner on to the clock? In the explanation he just shows you how to get the torn piece into your back pocket!?! Not that impressive ay? He doesn’t even mention the fact that in the effect the card ends up pieced onto a clock hand - bloody impressive!

It leads us to believe that he either had an accomplice or the whole thing was staged. Putting the “audience tested” performance of all the other effects under question.

If he had an accomplice - he would have to pass the piece off to him; this stooge would then have to secretly place the corner onto the clock - in a room FULL of people without anybody catching him.... I doubt it.

The rest of the DVD is admittedly of good quality and the content is above par. However, I can’t help but feel cheated by Daniel Madison as a fellow magician.. sorry… I mean Visual Artist.

Peace.

It's not difficult to figure out how he got the corner on the clock hand - An accomplice wouldn't necessarily be needed at all!

Daniel wouldn't show something in the demo performance that isn't possible. The whole point of his material is that it's very, very practical...

Maybe watch it again, it clearly explains that it's a pre setup effect, meaning that you decide on the revelation location before you even perform, did you watch the explanation?

The entire concept states that the corner can be revealed anywhere, d+M uses his pocket as an example for the explanation, or did you want d+M to teach us how to pierce a piece of card onto a clock handle? You do know that card is penetrable right? And that sharp things can go through it?

In my opinion, the effect is great. The method allows the corner of the card to appear ANYWHERE YOU WISH! That in itself is amazing. It's the same corner of the same card, no duplicates.

If you have to question a method so simple as this one, then maybe you need to go back to the basics. Please do not take offense to that at all.

Experienced magicians would appreciate an effect and method so simple.

I purchased the download and have already performed the effect for a crowd at a party. The corner appeared in a ladies drink, submurged at the bottom. The reactions I received were amazing.

OH BY THE WAY.

I think there are some exposure issues going on in this thread that you all need to be careful about. Just a heads up...

I think it was quite obvious that it was an effect that was going to require a setup. Did you expect a method that allows a card corner to actually vanish from your hand and appear on the other side of the room?. It was clear that it was basically going to be a corner to any place you can manage to put it.

Angle Zero was one of my favourite effects from Vol.01.

The whole tearing and vanishing of the piece caught me totally off-guard, which is dumb as I have a fair bit of Madisons work and it's always dead simple.

Bloody great effect. I've already started playing around with it and, like it says on the DVD, everything looks so convincing it's scary.

The fact that the whole thing (bar a few easy sleights and that killer tearing sequence) is reliant on presentation is what makes it for me. I can do the same effect again and again week after week, even to the some of the same people and the outcome will never be the same. That in itself, sells real magic to me.

Simplicity at it's best.

Genius.

+ Kudos to W:H for the bit he added to the effect...it made me smile big time when I watched the explanation.

Jaz, buddy...you should watch it all again and then start playing with it a bit.
