Hey guys the other day i was at the doctor to get physical to go to tannens. And at the end i started doing magic for my main doctor and she was totally blown away so she calls in like 5 other nurses and i do believe here then there prophet and the good ole angle zero and they flip! So i leave and im all like that went well then ten minutes later we get a call. One of the nurses is having an hour party/"nurse get together" and wants me to come and do magic. The party consists of a bunch of nurses i have no idea what to do whats a good routine any help is insanely appreciated!

P.S. This brings new meaning to a strange magic show. I mean kids party adult get together corporate events.......... NURSE PARTY WTH!!! lol

If you have The Art of Astonishment books, those tricks always play well with the ladies.

I'd recommend either Juke or Whack Your Pack, The Ultimate Ripoff, Backlash, Free Flight, and especially The Anything Deck. That one kills.

Pulse stops are great to do on nurses, I'll ask if there's any medical professionals present... I had to settle for a vet once, It was pretty good though

I think a good thing to think about is to play on the idea of the biologically impossible when dealing with nurses and stuff - play about with stigmata and a classic pulse stop, naturally control wouldn't be suited..

On a whole though you've performed to some of them before, so you'll know what kind of material hits home with them. Perform what you feel will work best with them

It's Ok Pipi94 These are one of my favorite kinds of shows because YOu can be yourself and do what you know THings off of here and anywhere what ever you do, and like to perform you should do It sound to me that there just going to want to watch you do somethings while relaxing with a glass of wine or something it should be fun for you and great experience but just thing to your self what tricks you do and have that you think hit are and would impress them. Then practice them till there down soil and go and do it you should be fine.....

P.S. I so wanted to go to Tannens this year except Danny Garcia Justin Miller should be in town for our annual magic convention in my town! hope to see u maybe next year!

sounds awesome i wish i could totally help you with the kids party but..... i don't know much stuff in that genre per say but i can say do bisection unlimited it freaks adults and kids alike out!

When is the show? You shouldn't have accepted it if it is very short notice. Also, what category are you in Tannen's, stage or close-up? I'm going to be there for stage this year... My mom says I have to work on kids shows...

Do the routines that you are good at. But great tricks that always play well would be cups and balls, linking rings, and so forth. I think you should do maybe Control as your closer. It will work beutifully with nurses.

Or you could make the Statue of Liberty disappear, or maybe even walk through a really thick wall. This gets great reactions from the audience I hear!!!!

Punctuation? Spelling? Please..? Geez....I wouldn't think I'd be on the forums trying to teach people English!

And wow! I didn't know that Control can't be performed for medical professionals! THat really brings down the trick in my opinion.


Anyway, about your situation. Sounds like you've got a gig!
I don't expect a bunch of nurses to watch your magic for the whole hour. And it also depends what they expect you to do. I mean, do they want you to walk around? Or have a stage-like performance?

You should get more details first, although all they want to see is magic...

Wow, very good idea of the pulse stops on nurses. That is very clever. I personally don't perform pulse stops just because I don't think it really suits me, but that is a great idea!
