Product Review

Not that I wish to plug another magic online store- in fact, I've yet to be happier since switching over to theory11;)- but I did find this product review of the Silkworm thread and figured I'd post it for you for informational purposes...

I absolutely LOVE silkworm elastic thread....it's the only IET I use.

It comes in 3 'flavours'.....black (which can be stripped down further), clear, and opaque (white).

I have yet to receive my sample of white in the mail.

I'll keep you posted on how well it works in comparison with the other types.

has anyone used the Infinity loops reel? i heard good things about it, but it costs a LOT. I just dont wanna buy 80 some dollars worth of loops and never use it.
-for those who havent seen that thing before... its MASSIVE
itll seriously last you a lifetime, plus you can hand it down to your kids, and their kids...

seems like the 2 big contenders are The Infinity IET and Silk Worm IET.

I have a sample of the Infinity IET, and I find it to be weaker than the Silk Worm (I'm comparing both in their stripped state......unstripped they are both fairly visible, and both REALLY strong)

I would recommend the Silk Worm.....much cheaper, and you get enough on that spool to last a very long time !!!! (especially if you strip it down)

both are great, both have weaknesses, depending on your needs.

black strips down to 3-4 strands (can't remember which), but is still black....if you're very pale, it's noticable, (WAY LESS than the thick Mesika thread....and if you know the Mesika thread, it's pretty invisible as is)...the clear is completely invisible....but it has more of a glare than the black, so lighting is VERY important with the clear.

I'm sure if you order one from PrecisionMagic's website, and say that Phil recommended you order it, the very generous David Mann (owner) will gladly send you a spool of each black and clear to try. He held that type of promotion for a while, not sure if he's still doing it.
