some flourishing questions

ok, i know this is always annoying and i will probably get flamed but i have tried to search this forum and DND forums for the answers and finally just decided to ask. first question is about a flourish i keep seeing the bucks doing but have been unable to identify or figure out click me Dan starts doing it at about 1:07 and does it a few times afterward. its the swing cut ariel he is doing with his right hand to his left. any help on this as far as identifying or location to learn it or just if its as simple as a swing cut than some advice cause i tried just a swing cut and the cards go everywhere haha. second question is, ive been flourishing for about 4 months and i really enjoy it, i have the system, trilogy and i wanted to know if there is anything else i should pick up, excluding the Encyclopedia cause i cant quite justify spending 75$ right now. Im not gonna stop pracitcing what i have cause i know i need to keep working on it and making it smooth so dont suggest that i just like having option to string them together for combo's. Also, the one thing i am simply unable to accomplish is the one handed fan. not the smear fan the other one. any help on that one would be great too. thanks in advance and please be gentle, i dont flame well

the pivot cut is just like, pick up half the deck with your finger and instead of pivoting it off your opp thumb/finger like usual, just twist your wrist and let it go and yeah it'll fly through the air or whatever.


Well dude for the fans I think you need either XB or the Encyclopedia. I dont get why you got the trilogy, but can't commit $75 (actually cheaper) for a book with 10 times more information. Well I have a guess though.

XB (xtreme beginnerz) is cheaper than the encyclopedia and has a hour-long fanning clinic that should get your one-handed fans down, but I would recommend just going straight to the encyclopedia. Hey just think of the fanning chapter as only costing you 7 bucks.

congradulations on making the 1000th thread in this forum by the way, I have to say in 1000 threads and going on two years now, this section of t11 has not changed at all.

thanks for the help and its not that im not going to buy the Encyclopedia, i just cant afford to spend that much on magic right now, with phone bills, rent, electric and tuition. haha. but i will get it when i can trust me. i have XB and i still cant figure out that fan but oh well, i guess i'll wait till someone can show me in person

To to the aerial move just go to the flourish "mecka" on the trilogy. There is a part where he does the revolution with his left hand and another cut with his right hand. Just do the thing he is doing with his right hand but throw the cards instead. It will take practice so don't be disappointed the first time you do.

As for the fan well let me just say it took me months to get this right. The only tip I can give you is bevel the deck a bit and try to open using all your fingers. Try to do it in one motion.
