Sticky Cards

Hi guys this is my first time posting so not sure if I'm doing it right but here goes.

So the story goes something like this: 3 months ago I picked up card magic and have spend hours practicing ever since. At the start I bought a standard red bicycle deck which I have used till the sides have turned dirty and can't really spread anymore. 2 weeks ago I bought a deck of Memento Mori and barely used it as I kept it as my performance deck. This week I didn't touch my cards for 2 days because I had exams. What I noticed when I picked up my cards was that the bicycles fanned really well like they were new but the Memento Mori was very sticky. I admit I don't always wash my hands before I handle my deck and I do have sweaty palms but logically shouldn't be Memento Mori be in a better condition?

So I just wanna hear what you guys think happened and is it just that the Memento Mori deck is bad?

Do you live in a humid place? That can effect a deck. Maybe you even spilled water or something on it

The MM deck is printed by Murphy's on Q1 (I think), so its not bad at all.

I would say however, that it is more of a cardistry deck than a performance deck due to the complex faces. But its your call.

Yeah I live in a humid place (Singapore)

Funny story my bicycles were actually in a bag with a leaky water bottle and got wet once. My 7 of spades even has its corner blue because of the water.

Yeah I realised that memento Mori wasnt a good deck because the faces can be hard to read sometimes. I am thinking of replacing it with a monarch deck after I get better

Yeah. Humidity really messes things up.
If you want, buy a plastic deck that's cheap to practice (and even use as an everyday carry).
Store your cards in a dry, closed off place, like a sealed plastic box. Also, I recommend getting a card clip, and carrying your cards around in that - it'll keep them from warping.
