I know this doesn't fit into any of the forum categories but I just had to throw this up here, since it may effect us this site.

I just watched a very startling video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=A2XPiqhN_Ns

It briefly describes what would/is going to happen if Net Neutrality is comprimised.

We would pretty much have to pay to sites on the internet, and pay even more to see less "mainstream" sites. Would like to pay to see all the small sites you visit everyday?!

Go on there and sign the petition to preserve Net Neutrality, and to educate yourself on this subject.

Support “Internet Freedom Preservation Act 2008” (HR 5353).

I've never thought of that before.

I'm scared now.

Don't be scared. Instead do something to save it!

This has been going on for a couple of years now. Net Neutrality almost got kicked out in December of 2006, (I think...I have to check my facts).

It didn't though.

I completely agree with the OP and we should all do what we can to support Net Neutrality.

Here's another website to learn more: http://www.freepress.net/

But the link that ace18 provided is doing the most work.

It isn't what you think. I have known about this for 2 years now. Allow me to explain...

Yes it is true that they want to make computers like T.V's but not to that extreme. What people really want to do is make a T.V: that also will act as the computer yet still could be thin and all that. So, the T.V would get channels and you could watch SCRUBS, then pop a game into the disk drive on the TV and play Splinter Cell.

This package deal is probably an idea that a few people had. however, you must think logically, if that was to happen and people couldn't afford packages just think how many protests and riots there would be. They are simply trying to combine things together to make things easier and more compact.

For example, people belive that by a maximum of 2030 everyone will own a small device that is hooked to your ear with an earpiece. Off of this there will be a small stick type thing that will hold a piece of glass in front of your eye. You can't see out of it but people can see your eye through it. And all you do is tell it what to search for and it'll bring you topics. It is a miny computer.

So, don't worry friends... all is well.

BONUS FACTS:

1: the average adult today will switch careers 2 -4 times in their life. whereas, when the kids today grow up they will change careers 6 - 12 times. And 6 out of those 12 jobs don't even exist yet. ( hovercar repaiman, robot installation, etc.)

2: the Aztecs said that the world would end in 2012.
