I've been looking for a Swami Gimmick to buy, but I wanted to know if there is a certain one thats the best. So if anyone could give me some insight on this gimmick and where I should buy one at, it would be greatly appreciated.

E sells the thumbtip ones (you have to read their product page, possibly even a disclaimer, to figure that out though--the picture shows a different type of gimmick than what they sell).

I wouldn't suggest those ones. I'm actually looking for a Swami gimmick myself; I'm looking for the one that slips behind your thumb nail, as I have seen that one praised by many mentalists. Yet, I don't see it being all that abundantly for sale, as I've yet to find one. I can find the thumbtip ones, the ones that stick onto your thumb, but not the ones that slip behind your nail. I was thinking of just making my own. We'll see.

I hope that helps! :)

I don't buy from Penguin, so go figure.

And if that's actually the nail one (as apposed to the lead that just sticks to your thumb), then thanks! :)

I honestly couldn't tell u as i dont own it, but I think that is what it is. And also sorry if i sounded a bit rude in my statement.

I admittedly don't use the Swami as much as I'd like, but I do have enough experience with it to distinctly favor the Boon-style writer over the (standard?) nail writer. Personally, in my hands, it feels more comfortable and allows more freedom of movement for the thumb. In addition to that, it's more angle-proof when worn correctly. I find that I can write certain words and messages more effortlessly than the nail-writer and I've a friend who agrees with this line of thinking.

Honestly-- I would recommend just getting both styles and seeing what works for you. The Boon and nail writer would probably only cost you a total of $10-20 at most. If you decide that you enjoy using the Boon-style Swami, I think you should invest in the Super Sharpie. It was a utility device that was released in the mid-90s that was essentially a standard sharpie pen with the added bonus of a Boon attachment. The prop looked absolutely harmless... so much so, that I absent-mindedly lost mine years ago.

Hope this helps out.

RS.
