Tabled riffle shuffle, zarrow and push through

Hi,I purchased Gary Plants's zarrow ebook recently and got it to a decent level. I usually do my tabled riffle shuffles by pushing the two interlaced halves with my third fingers,I do the same for the push through as well. This zarrow(which seems to be one of the best zarrows out there) requires pushing the two halves with the fourth finger. Do I have to change my push through and normal shuffle as well or can I just ignore this discrepancy between my normal shuffle and zarrow? I tried doing a normal shuffle with my fourth fingers, found it slightly hard.A push through with my fourth fingers just seemed impossible since I have large hands and all the fingers just bunched up and blocked each other . Any suggestions?

Hello,
As Dr. Daley showed us all, there will always be people with a preferred finger (just as some point with their middle fingers) He used his 4th fingers for the push-through. The blocking you mentioned isn't a bad thing. It affords cover for the sleight. While the aesthetics of your shuffle system is entirely up to you, I would recommend working from the little finger as well. The hands form a "shield" in front of the deck while the work is done. The more closed you make it look the better. The same can be said about any of your other shuffles (true tabled riffle, push-through, wet chin, zarrow, etc.) as well.

Would love to see the shuffle,
Edward

Hey,thanks for your help.I'll try doing a push through with my fourth fingers and see if it's possible. I have a video of me practicing the Nash multiple shift.I do a zarrow in the third shuffle after the running cuts .Sorry for the poor quality of the video.Still got a long way to go to perfect these techniques(as always!)

Good work so far, but remember to keep those fingers closed! It seems like the main reason you flashed on the multiple shift was that your fingers were apart. The spectators shouldn't see the corners of those cards hinging through the deck. Think of your hands like oven mits and that should help you out. The zarrow read wrong because of the slight hesitation in the shuffle and a smaller one when you did the actual sleight (the squaring), otherwise keep polishing away. =]
Hope this helps,
Edward
