So I know that it's kinda stupid posting a review of something that was released last year and on T11 when its from elllusionist, but whatever. There WAS a recent price drop, and I have been seeing people wanting to buy it at the lowered price... So yeah heres the review...
So I got this product during the price drop because it looked like one awesome trick. And it truly is. The only worry I had was that the reviews were extremely mixed... Some people said they loved it, while others hated it. So I'll just add my opinion in I guess...
One important thing is to WATCH THE DVD BEFORE USING THE TARANTULA
DVD Quality 5/5
Standard quality of any good magic DVD out there. Yigal Mesika teaches you everything you need. He uses regular thread instead of the invisible thread during the explanations so you can see everything quite fine.

Pretty much goes over everything you need to know about the tarantula....
Hoverring: Great effect, but you need to practice a lot before going out to perform this... Also, watching the dvd multiple times is necessary. Best effect on the dvd. 5/5
Rising/Levitating Dollar: Quick and easy effect that works very well as a joke for your friends. This can lead to very funny situations, for example if you drop a dollar, you can just bring it back up to your hand using the tarantula. Elementary but nothing wrong with it. 5/5
Returning Pen: Same thing as the dollar trick... Elementarty, but nothing wrong with it... 5/5
Haunted Pack: Hmmm... This one I've had quite a lot of trouble with... In all the videos and in the explanation, this effect works quite well, but whenever I try it, the thread always breaks... I'll keep trying I guess... 3/5

So here is probably why there are so many mixed reviews... This gimmick IS a reel of invisible thread, as said in the description, so no revealing there... There is 25 feet of invisible thread in this gimmick, so enough (supposedly) to last you quite a long time, right? Wrong. My initial problem, and it probably was for everyone else, was that the string kept breaking and got tangled... For this gimmick, I guarantee you WILL need to buy extra reels and wax (unless you stop using it)... This gimmick has a very high learning curve. Also, about the gimmick, it is very fragile. I've heard that people dropped it, and it broke and that was that. 50 bucks on the floor, broke (pun intended). Now about the use of the gimmick. The position of the gimmick is decently natural... For younger people (like me) you might need to cut the gimmick a bit (this is explained on the dvd). Also, not trying to expose too much here, but the gimmick IS pretty loose, so it IS easy to drop. The thread itself is quite good, but of course if you are in the light wearing a white shirt, you can see it... The gimmick does use a battery. It's not hard to find in any general store. The initial battery should last a decent amount of time though...
After all this, I would definitely still recommend it to non-beginners who are pretty patient... As I said before, this trick has a pretty high learning curve, and to perform it well, you WILL need to watch the dvd over and over and listen to everything. When you receive this item, you might find yourself disappointed, and I admit that I did feel that way for the first couple of days. But after a little practice, this truly becomes natural. Make sure when you buy this item, you get extra reels and wax. Overall rating: 4/5
