I've got some questions about the Advocate. I've been practicing with it for a while, but am wondering what the best way to reset it is? I think I should just do it at the end of a performance, when no one's looking, but it may be possible to sneak the card back in? PM me, to avoid exposure.

I've used it for years now. I reset on my own in private. Just put the card in a pocket, and when I have 10 seconds to myself I can pull everything out and reset. If you try to reset "blindly" around spectators, you run the risk of messing up, which means the next time you try to pull that card you are TOAST.

Shouldn't usually be hard to find a few seconds to step out of sight to deal with this.

Thanks! This is what I think I need to do. My only concern is that if I perform with it again without resetting, they might say the same card again, but if that were the case, I could probably do something different(eg. They say 7 of hearts, I do the trick with the other 3 7s).

I agree with Lyle. I wouldn't do it blind unless I felt I absolutely had to.

If someone chooses the same card that's been used previously, I would say, "You know what? Someone chose that one earlier, I don't want you to think that's the only one that it works with. Pick another." Or maybe something Peter Turner-like, "Ok now to make sure it's totally random, change your mind."

You could discard the previously named card into your other pocket. If that card is named again, it's easily accessible. The only issue is you would be using your opposite hand. By doing this, it gives you an extra performance or two before resetting.

This is a great Idea! I will be using it.

Actually, this also works! Say I do it 3 times, and have the 3 cards in my right pocket. I can then just right hand cop them and continue with the same effect.
