I really want this trick but the one thing that's bugging me is when, in the preview, Chris cant find the chosen card and just uses a different one. What I'm scared of is what if their chosen card is easily visible and they say "oh there it is" and you are forced to use it? I know the trick would still be impressive with the capturing of the card, but then you do not get the surprise ending. If answering this requires exposing some crucial information about the trick then you don't have to answer, but just telling me if it is a problem or if it isn't would work.

You dont have to have them see the faces. Have them name a card, and then say "I'll use the 10 of Spades" and act like you completely ignored what they said. This was described in A Clockwork Apple, his book produced by Vanishing Inc.
So basically when you look through the cards you hold the card faces up to your face or towards you so the audience can't see?

Alright thanks, time to go purchase this trick after finals D: Just wondering, but have you or anyone else actually done this trick before? Do you think it's hard hitting enough to possibly add to a routine, maybe even combine it with a different sandwich trick?

I don't have this, but this seems as powerful as it gets with sandwich effects, up there with Search and Destroy IMO. I watched the trailer and it blew my mind, especially the bonus effect. I would either start with a regular sandwich effect and then say "Let's kick it up a notch" or something and bust out the jokers with holes and do the effect; or do it by itself. It seems hard hitting enough to stand alone.
Mind you, this is all just from watching the demo, I have no idea how it's done

Neither do I, I really want to learn and perfect this move because it seems like it could have many applications.
There is only one thing I cannot get down yet, and that is cutting the hole in the cards. Can anyone help me with that? I didn't realize how hard it is to cut through a card with exacto knife.
Im not sure how you're doing it or how it's supposed to be done, but I would use a stencil like a bottle cap and "trace" around it with the knife
