Hahahahaha that Charlier was hilarious. Just pure comedy. I'm not sure if they were serious about it for for comedic purposes. I would just buy it to laugh at every move he does wrong, which is pretty much every single one. HAHA

ha yes guys it was a joke. this is the 7 dvd set on erdnase by wesley james, the worst dvd ever made. so dont buy it. James cant do the moves at all, as that charlier cut shows.

Haha, I did better charlier cuts my first time ever. Possibly because I learned it from Andrei on Genesis v1, but... Is that a real dvd, or did they just make some blooper sh*t.

LMFAO. I'm surprised this dvd is actually published, and not one shot with a crap camera burned onto a cd you can buy for like, 10 cents.

Oh, btw, I'm selling my copy bootleg for 10 cents....

Yeah, I think they were doing a psychological experiment when they filmed this...'how many magician's will buy something that we hype as 'super-mega-awesome-ultimate from an underground artist'.

The problem I see with it is that a lot of those moves are sort of dated, and pretty much a majority of magicians and performers have updated them over the decades to be a bit more practical and less silly looking. So him executing the moves EXACTLY like Erdnase described doesn't really do much for the book or help it at all.

I would say the clear problem with it is that he can't do the moves. I genuinely believe that, while there may be little handling finesses you could add to Erdnase's moves, they all work and could find a place in a modern magician's repertoire. Yes, some of them are very difficult, but, on careful study of the text, I think it becomes apparent that each finger placement, pressure and movement is important and forms a concerted whole.

What moves do you think are dated and silly looking?

The problem is that he doesn't execute the moves exactly like Erdnase described at all. It has been well documented that Wesley James has made more than a forgivable amount of errors in performing Erdnase. Don't confuse the two - that is what James looks like, not what Erdnase looks like!

Given what his Charlier looked like, I wonder if he could even do the 1 Handed Erdnase Shift.

I think one example of silly looking would be the S.W.E. Shift... I mean seriously... It's tough, looks awkward... Just do a pass... No need for that...

I give up. I fully believe this was a joke or an experiment. I've spent the whole day trying to do a charlier as terrible as his yet still cut the cards to an extent. It's damn near impossible.

Boy, don't correct me on this.

I never said Wesley James looked like Erdnase (that would just be stupid, sense Erdnase would have to be 100 or so years old..).
