hey, im jsut getting into cardistry and ive noticed something. this isn't about having too small hands. im not here to complain, i just had a few questions. I was learning the thumb cut and my thumb appears to be too short. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue. My hands are relatively average but my thumbs are kinda stumpy haha. i didn't know if there was any way specifically to either lengthen or stretch it or should i just avoid flourishes that specifically utilize the thumb. either way im going to continue to practice just didn't know if anyone had some helpful hints to target the thumb. thanks

If you're not around 13 years old yet... your hands will grow

But for the most part, your thumb is probably not small, it's just in the wrong place.

Try putting your thumb in a different place while fanning.

Eventually you will get it and be amazed at how easy fanning can be:D

For some reason so many people have trouble with the thumb cut.... Some things that will help....

-Use half a deck (I'll admit full deck thumb cuts are awkward to do)
-Use more flexible, pliable cards
-Bend/bow the packet with your thumb prior to breaking off with the fingers

Also, your thumb doesn't have to be able to reach over the whole side of the deck, as long as it can reach over half way you can use the thumb to hold onto that half and let the other packet fall and extend out with the fingers, this is a bit easier than breaking off packets from the thumb. Hope this helps some....

thank you, you were one of the few who actually tried to help and i will try it. sounds like it might help.

try using your thumbs to type something into the search function

i did search and found nothing on the thumb cut specifically. if you can, feel free to enlighten me, otherwise, please feel free to refrain from just making disparaging comments when you dont know
