Where are you planning on buying Totally out of Control from?
I've not seen it available too many places recently.

I have heard great things about both books. Aaron Fisher is highly regarded on another forum that I frequent and his works discussed as very practical and workable.

Chris' work, from what I've seen, is always amazing and I am dying to get a hold of more material of his. (I wish his early stuff was more readily available)

Don't be scared of gimmicks! They can make real magic happen far beyond what you can do with pure sleight of hand.

I say just get both. Get what ever is available now, as I believe that the other will be available soon if it isn't at the moment.

PS. BTW CardShark is back in print now too.

I have Totally Out of Control at home, haven't cracked it open in a while but the material in there is quite good. A nice mix of cards, coins, and misc items. There aren't 'too' many gimmicks from what i remember, i'll give it a once over when i get home after work. I dont think you could go wrong with either.

a few online magic sites based in the uk are selling totally out of control but they are quite expensive to buy from them. Its cheaper for me to import it but like you said its hard to find it anywhere that sells it at the moment over seas.

I dnt mind the odd gimmicked trick but if its filled up of loads of them i will probably pass.Im more of a slieght of hand man but i know how the odd gimmick can highten your arsenal of tricks so thats why i want totally out of control,. But on the other hand i cnt ignore the paper engine!!
