This is of course a pretty neat effect for laymen, and very simple; which i like.

But the problem is with such a simple and easy effect, you performed it badly...

it was obvious and apparent that you had an extra card in between the jokers to begin with when you slapped it on. it was a pretty noticeable flash. Just brush up on getting the cards flush and straight, and you will be good from there.

cheers,

Casey

Casey, I rewatched the video and saw no noticeable flash. I saw a small edge, but that only appeared to my trained eye, since I performed it. I disagree with you here - I don't think it's noticeable at all, and I do not think I performed it badly.

Alright man, you asked what we thought of it, so here it goes:

Look, you flashed. I don't care what you think, you did. I noticed it first time I saw it. So please stop arguing with people who are only giving you constructive criticism. You do this on every thread where you post one of your creations. Just take the criticism, it's for you your benefit.

Okay, so I'm guessing the "modern day flair" was the cut that controlled the card at the beginning? I would work on it, as it was too slow and obvious to follow. But good start. Just smooth it out.

The effect itself is obviously good. But here's the thing. I've noticed in every video you've posted, you card handling skills aren't very good. I would say stop trying to create your own effects. Go back and start learning basics in card magic, and learning moves and effects already created. THEN you can start creating your own effects.

The problem is your spending too much time trying to create effects, and not working enough on your card handling skills.

Hope this helps you man! Keep at it and you'll be great someday!

Cheers

So, magic without patter is just the most entertaining thing in the world, am I right?

And there were two noticeable flashes that some laymen would notice. There was the flash on the load, and the flash when you dropped the jokers on top of the deck.

Please, for the love of good entertainment, try to incorporate some semblance of patter. We all know what a sandwich routine looks like. Why should we care about another one that looks exactly the same as 90% of all other sandwich routines performed to cameras?

I have to agree with Casey, you flashed, and the card control was horrible, a simple double under cut could do the job there insted of that.
