I have three card effects that I have devised, at least to my knowledge they have not been published elsewhere, and I was wondering where I need to go next. In other words what is the next step torward getting them published, and at what point should I start thinking about copyrighting the material?

I've heard you need to perform it for as many people as possible and make sure its the best it can be before you think about publishing. I'm sure we'd love to hear more about.

Thanks for the responses. One of the tricks (probably my favorite of the three) involves giving the spectator(s) a deck of cards, having them chose any cards (they can chose any cards and any number of cards or none at all, though i will probably have them keep it under ten for the sake of simplicity) and hiding them somewhere on their person. They give me the deck back and after "weighing" the deck and giving it a couple of riffles i am able to determine the number of cards taken and what the cards are. The method is pretty devious, and the spectators are just that (not stooges).
It takes a while, when you look at people publishing here T11 and dananddave they say how they have been practicing an effect for 10,20,20 years, it takes a long time. I am nearly in the same position with some effects I have created and sat on for a while. There have been a couple threads on this lately including one I have made, Search'em up and look for more info there. Good luck
