I am a beginner of card flourishing...My friend advised me to buy something to learn from here in theory11...

I ordered myself trilogy from dan and dave and 8 packs of tally hos..

I am wondering if trilogy includes of the basics.....I am a complete new learner...do I need to buy another DVD? Since another friend of mine said that the trilogy is for more advanced practioners.

Please can somebody give me some advice...I'm stuck here.

yes there is a section called flourishes 101... it will teach you some basics like sybil... one handed cuts like charlier and revolution cut... and basic fan and spring and so on... but if you want learn all basics and in very great detail i would recommend to buy the genisis dvd... great stuff.... tought perfectly and in full detail... so if you got some cash left over get it... you will love it trust me ;-)

Uh-Oh!!! You shouldn't have picked up the trilogy. The "flourishes101" isn't really that helpful without narrative.
Instead you should've gotten the EOPCF (Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes), Genesis (heard good things about it), or XBI XBII.
The Trilogy is a baaaaad place to begin.

I disagree here, loads of people put off beginners by saying the trilogy is too hard etc, when in fact it is not.

I bought it two weeks into my induction into magic and cardistry, and i have already got a wealth of use out of it. PEOPLE THE TRILOGY IS PERFECT FOR BEGINNERS. Maybe not for the young, spoon fed, lazy teenager, but for someone serious about learning cardistry and flourishing, the Trilogy is essential, and will teach you to think for yourself from the start.

Get it - trust me. Just promise yourself you will work hard with it and you will be satisfied with your progress.

the trilogy isn't impossible.
I started with the trilogy in flourishing and i actually am glad. I picked up Xtreme Beginners a few months later and it bored me to death. Just be dedicated and practice and you'll be fine.

No offense, Steve, as I completely agree with your post and I started with the Trilogy too, but you have said that you have had the Trilogy for the past 2 weeks, for the past 3 weeks.

I do agree that Trilogy amazes not just myself, but people around me as well. That's really the main reason why I'm gonna save up some cash to get Trilogy, and possibly andthensome along with it.

Secondly, I already have Genesis V1, and I highly believe it is an excellent beginner dvd. Andrei Jikh gives really impressive explanations on basic cuts and moves that helps you understand real quick, and you'll be doing these cuts in really no time. I don't have Trilogy, thus I have no say over its contents, or whether it is better than Genesis.

However, it is a well-known fact that flourishes is only one part of Trilogy. Thats another reason why I'm gonna get it. Tricks and everythingelse are in a way bonuses that will help u take cardistry a different level.

Overall, if you have Trilogy, make good use of it. it's a good investment. If you have some extra cash I recommend you get Genesis along with it. Both discs will really benefit you greatly.

Sorry if you got confused by my wording, i meant that i bought the Trilogy 2 weeks after starting magic and cardistry, or my 'induction' as i put it. So basically i was emphasising the fact that i was very new to it all when i purchased it.
