Do you prefer Tally-ho's 9 or Normal bicycles? i mean for everything :)
And second, i am a nebwie, is it easier to perform the flourishes with shadow masters deck vs Tally ho's?
Thanks :)

In the not to distant future
tally-ho = best card ever. now i am not much of a flourisher - i just started a while ago - but these cards are great. the finish is great very smooth and lasts a long time. size and stock are good but not too different from normal bikes. design i love the design on tally-ho fan back or circle back. i only use the fan back by the way. on the downside tally-ho are more expensive than regular bikes. unless you know where to look. once i dont know how or why but i found some tally-ho at a drugstore. for the same price as bikes. im not too sure about shadow masters, everybody is going to hate for this but i really dont like them and therefore never flourished with them.
hope that helps. pick up a brick of tally-hos right now.

I have never used Tally-Ho's, but I've heard really good things about them. As for the Shadow Masters, they look really cool, and handle very nicely.

NEVER, I repeat, NEVER, i'll repeat again, NEVER use a custom deck for magic. Shadow master, vipers, black tigers, guardians, centurions, nothing. They arouse suspicion. They literally scream "Hey look i'm a trick deck!"

Always use bikes or tallys for magic. As for flourishing, you can use custom cards.

Trust me, it wasn't easy. I had to point a gun to Brad Christian's head until he decided to give me a talking deck of black tigers. I trained to say "th, th, th, th, th, that's all folks!" at the end of my shows :)

Dude, I'm so jealous... you have no idea.

Took me a while to get one too, but I don't use them for magic, because they don't handle hecklers well.
So instead I use it as a stooge for mentalism, always gets good reactions.

Oh mine handle hecklers really well. Every time it senses heckling it goes "Hey! Buddy! Can't you see he trying to do magic here? He's giving you free entertainment for pete's sake! Now be quiet!" And that's why i never have heckler problems anymore

I think that depends on your presentation, ...

I prefer Tally Hos. The cards you use won't change how well you do stuff (unless you're talking about some crap piece of paper sitting in a bucket of oil compared to a deck of Bikes or Tallys).

I don't agree with this at all! It's all about your presentation. If they think it's a trick deck, LET THEM EXAMINE IT! That will put to rest any thoughts that it's a trick deck!! Just like any prop that a person think is gimmicked, but isn't... let them examine it!

A) Suspicion only comes if you start it. 90% of people who think a deck is not normal is because a magician went out of their way to say 'This is not a trick deck'. The majority of people don't know about trick decks at all.

B)Tally-Ho's get my vote. Still play with bikes occasionally. I never liked shadow's so I never bought any...sry I can't help you there.

As for ease...it's all up to what you practice with and what flourish you're doing. Like some people prefer thin decks like the Absoluts (or the cheap alternative : Aviators!) (I don't like cards that thin...) Some prefer Wynn's (which are thick, casino grade stock).

Use a few different kinds of decks for both magic and flourishing and you'll eventually like one more than the rest. Or you'll constantly change decks ^ ^.

Oh! and you'll see/hear it a thousand times...moves, both sleights and flourishes, get easier the more you practice them. End of story. :)

Where ease is concerned, it varies by person. If it fits in your budget, I'd say try all 3 and decide for yourself. In my personal experience, Shadow Masters are one of the best decks ever when it comes to handling. I personally use none of the above, though. I'm a guardians guy, as I do more magic than cardistry.

I agree, never use any custom decks for magic, especially black decks. Masters Edition were good because they didn't arouse suspicion but I prefer Tally Ho's to any Bicycles.

I've had people ask me about the deck before when I've shown a black deck before I even said anything.

I've had people ask me about the deck before when I've shown a black deck before I even said anything.

And I've had people that were suspicious about a standard deck of bikes before I ever said anything. There are people out there where trick deck is the first thing that pops into their heads. Whether my deck is black or white has never affected whether the person thinks it's a trick deck. And with both decks, I rarely gets a question about the deck being a trick one.
