I showed my cousin this effect (the video demo, I dont have it) and he FLIPPED out, after I showed him a tivo 2.0 video and he was like "yeah, whatever." Just off that reaction I'll probably buy this.
Well just because the method is easy does not mean it needs to be improved. If you want to improve your magic you should read the Paper Engine or Anything by Darwin Ortiz the idea is the conservation of movement. Everything in this effects is motivated and does not have any suspicion.
I highly reccomend Paper Engine, got it for Christmas and absolutley LOVE it.
If you want a real challenge in this effect substitute the riffle force for a face up classic.
Good idea, but why try and make the effect harder? Its good to have a challenge but everything in this effect is spot on already. (Retorhical question, I understand why you put this.)
What type of thinking is that? You don't like a trick because it's simple or easy? You're thinking like a magician and a technician. Make it entertaining! An easy method is something most magicians would love! Don't confuse the magic and method further.
Valid points, although it is a nice feeling when you are able to perform an effect with a more challenging method sometimes, but an easy method with a hard hit is always good. No need to make it more difficult when its laid out perfectly in front of you. If you need to adjust it to fit your performing style, thats fine, but adding a sleight for a challenge doesn't seem to logical.
Hope this helps.
