Using an Ink Jet printer to print custom gaffs

I own Versatile Monte & Beyond, but I still have a lot of questions, and I can't find his email address anywhere online or on the DVD.....which I find very odd.

my colour printouts look REALLY ugly! I think my printer is spitting out WAY too much ink. I've tried different settings, but I don't get any detail on my gaffs. I've tried removing the finish a few times (letting it dry in between) and it doesn't make a difference.

I'm pretty convinced that the problem lies with too much ink being put onto the card. I've printed on my lowest DPI settings available, but it still doesn't work.

Does anyone have any advice for me? I've got a few wicked Gaff ideas, and I'm trying to get them done at home.

Thanks.
