wow let me be the first to say... those were both awful performances! The first one, Mike0092, aside from having the deck incorrectly set up had the personality of Ben Stein on downers. The second guy, Eclipse14000, stumbled through the patter line after line. It got extremely boring to watch and it was clear that he was struggling to remember the patter he attempted to memorize earlier that day.

Come on guys, take some pride in your videos. From a technical stand point it wasnt that bad, it could certainly be improved though. But your poor patter and lack of enthusiasm brought the whole performance down a LOT.

From these videos, it is clear to me that you guys are more like a couple of guys that know card tricks than a couple of magicians.

You have to remember that your audience (im referring to laymen not the magicians that will be watching this) is taking in the entire performance, and their appreciation for the magic is largely based on how entertaining your performance and interaction with them, not on how clean your double lift is.

So for my final bit of advice, i suggest you guys in the coming months spend just as much time performing and learning from real world interaction as you do practicing slights.

i have to agree, very well put.

Ive got to say that was....yeah.

The Routines:

Mike0092:

Your routine was basically done 1on1 from DM. I saw that you havent practised it much. Take time to learn all the moves until you get the moves down and smooth also.

Eclipse14000:

Ive got to say if you did that routine yourselfe its good to know that you have tryied to make a cool routine. Although the same i have to say to you. Get the moves down and get the trick smooth.

The Presentations:

Mike0092:

I struggeled to get throw the video. Your tone of voice was always the same and you didnt really make your presentation better with the patter. You should also take time to think what is essential to talk with the spec and whats not and its not bad to stop talking for some time. e.g when the card was signed he could have shown how he signed the card and when he was done you would go on and search for the cards.

Eclipseandsomenumbers:

You learned your presentation by hart. Never do that. Try to improvise somewhat of 70% of the trick. No spectator is the same and no trick will be the same with anyone. You have to be ready to make adjustments to your patter.

For the both of you:

You should have put the camera in one place where everything is seeable and done the trick to the one behind the camera.

The filming:

For the both of you dont let 80year old shaking grandpas behind the camera its just too difficult to watch whats going on with the picture constantly shaking.

I didnt vote yet but ill think about it...

I hope you learned something from my post :)
