Hey guys, just woke up. As many of you know, Wayne held his first lecture at Grand Illusions last night. I had the privilege of attending, and boy was it worth it.

Here's a basic rundown of the evening.

The lecture started at 7:30, and I arrived at 7 because traffic was so bad. After a quick bite (there was a BBQ), myself and two of my friends went in.

First, Steve introduced the one and only Joel Paschall. He performed Believe for us, and then Wayne came on. He demonstrated a few effects to us, including Sinful, Stigmata, and a few tricks from Ultragaff. Then he proceeded to explain them.

This blew my mind. I knew he would teach something, but I wasn't expecting him to reveal his signature tricks. It was a great experience getting tips in person from him, and I learned a lot about the tricks. Keep in mind I knew how to do the majority of them, and I still learned something.

We took a short break, and then he did a few more performances. Some of this stuff was mind-blowing. I can't even describe how amazing it was. I'm not sure if I'm at liberty to say what it was, but I can assure you it was great.

He ended the evening with a bizarre trick by threading needles in his stomach and then regurgitating them. A bit gross, but it was amazing.

After that we had a question and answer session, where Wayne talked about his beginnings in magic, his best and worst performances, etc. When that was over, I bought a few items, including an Ultragaff and Volume 3 of the set (expect a review soon). My friends and I talked to Wayne, Joel, and Dana for a while. I learned a lot from Joel, and he's such a great guy to hang around with. I got some editing tips from Dana, and planned a secret something with Wayne. Shhhh...

Overall, it was such a great experience and I'm glad I spent the money to go to the lecture. I would definitely go do it again.

Yeah, sounds unreal!! Buy the time I heard about this I couldnt even catch a flight out there because of the Holiday weekend. I had the time off and a friend lives out there but to late notice. I would have loved it.
Anyway, I envy you Misner.

Just wondering, about how many attended?

Sounds great! I'm super pumped up to meet Joel in a week at California Magic- hopefully it'll be as good as everybody says. I wish I could have gone to this lecture! Stupid Missouri!

The 31st of May. It'd be cool to meet you. But according the site, you have to call for ticket availability, so you may have a bit of trouble getting tickets. Hope you can make it!

Yeah, it would be great to get to hang out with Gerry Griffin. That would totally make my day... well, probably like the whole year. :D
