hey im new at magic and intreseted in card tricks, i was just wondering what we be the best product to start off with?

I had the exact same problem when I got into card magic. A lot of different people recommended a lot of different things, and I simply had trouble believing any of them. Here I'm going to simply familiarize you with the system and where to look for what you want.

First off, the world of cards is divided in half, into cardistry (flourishing) and tricks. They are completely different and require different basic moves and skills. I would, however, recommend buying a basic tricks resource before a flourishing one; it's my opinion that the beginnings of cardistry are a little more difficult than those of tricks.

In either area of study, definitley get some resources to learn all the basic moves before going into more specialized tricks and such. In magic I hear a lot about Royal Road to Card Magic and Expert Card Technique. These are both very old books but are practically revered by magicians. They may not be for you, but def check them out. As I dived straight into Dan and Dave's Trilogy (advanced stuff) as a beginner, I don't have a lot of experience with beginner materials. And no, I don't reccomend diving straight into the Trilogy.

For cardistry, there's a helpful page on this site to help you with beginner materials. Click on the link for the cardistry forum on the forums homepage and look for the sticky that says something along the lines of "New to Cardistry?".

Hope this helps!

I would also recommed Royal Road to Card magic or Card College.

However, I would suggest also buying a DVD so you can see somebody perform the moves properly.

I would recommend either Crash Course 1 by Ellusionist, Born to Perform by Penguinmagic or Card Fundamentals Vol 1 and 2 in the 1 on 1 section at Theory 11.

i would say sleeping queens is good and simple also any thing from wayne houchin

I don't think buying random tricks is a good idea for a beginner. These are the sort of things you should buy after you have an understanding of the basics of sleight of hand.
