I know this topic has been mentioned many times but I was wondering if anyone has schoolcraft or lassen expanded shells. I'm trying to pick a brand and want to know if the lassens are worth the extra money.

I'll repeat it as many times as I have to.
If you want the best in terms of quality, Todd Lassen is your only choice.
You really get your money's worth.

true thats what a lot of people say but his shells being slightly better isn't the only thing to take into consideration. Schoolcraft's customer service and service demeaner is much better and his turnover time is less than a third of what Lassen's is right now. Its not like Schoolcrafts craftsmanship is anything to sneer about. he does beautiful work

I've got an E[ from both Lassen and Jamie, and to be honest I really wanted to love Jamie's work... buti t fell short. I've got a set of Barbers from Jamie and some Walkers from Lassen.
My Barber set E[ has a slight bump to it so the coins don't sit flush with the other coins, its not a huge problem but when you are "shelling" out that kinda money you want perfection. I can understand that expanding a barber half dollar is insane but why offer a product if you can't make it good. My opinion with Jamie is he has got caught up doing the Dean's sets so much that making a normal E[ is too much work and he just half asses it.

My set from Lassen is fantastic, for and E[ the coin covers pretty much the whole coin and I can easily flash it in front of people without them ever knowing. (Can do it with the Barbers but its noticable if you hold too long)

I honestly would go with Lassen, I called him up when I was getting my Walkers and said "Hey I got a Schoolcraft coin and its blah... how does yours compare?" his response was "Mine are perfect."

Haha that sounds like Lassen alright.
And it's true too, they're the closest thing you can get to perfect.
It's true he's a bit slow on the orders but the money you pay and the time you wait is well worth the final product.
Especially his new shells, with the thicker edges = more durable and he made it so there is less flashing from the back when nested.
Amazing..

i wasn't trying to knock lassen. ive heard about the amazing quality he has and im sure i will pick up one of his sets in the future.e But right now the wait is insane. It was gonna be about 5 months for me to get the set i was looking for and that was not including the month i waited, and am still waiting for the response email. Hopefully when i order from him in the future that time will be more under control. he really needs to hire some help. but other than time i would have definitely gone with lassene
