Which coins?

So ive just started coin magic and im going to get Jbobos Modern coin magic book and maybe In the beginning there were coins dvd. I decided if im going to do coin magic I might as well use good coins so does anyone have any coins they reccomend for coin magic that arent to expensive? Thanks

If you're just starting out. Best advice is to practice with regular coins.

I picked up some half dollars, but I try and do most things with quarters. Everyone has them, so you are always ready to go, even when you didn't bring your 'special' coins.

Honestly, you'll have to try a bit of everything to find your "preference" of coins, based on size and weight, and even the rigidity of the coins.

Half dollars are the standard per se because they are easy to palm due to their size. Because of their size, they are very "visual" yet easy to conceal.
The same can be said about the american dollar coins.

Keep in mind that different tricks work better with different coins as well.

I'd try the biggest coin in your local currency then work your way down to the quarter.
Then try the half dollar.
