If you look at the profile, there are other pictures of people with a hood on, and there is some reference to them being the Sandman. It is likely that DM was just doing his own Sandman shoot...

But I'm just guessing...

Ding! I just got the best revelation. Sandman has started a contest on his Myspace, where he will give a prize to the best impersonator. People have to take pictures of themselves dressed up like him.

I bet that the pictures are Daniel's entry, and they are also there to raise awareness of the contest.
