Hello, my full name is Harapan Santoso Ong, but just call me Harapan.
I am a 17 year old from Singapore, and I have been doing magic for roughly 7 years now, more or less. I do mainly card stuff now, like card magic and cardistry. My style changed a lot over the years, currently I am trying out a comedic style of magic.
My first magic book was probably something really cheesy like "Magic you can do with Science!" and whatnot, but skipping all those little manuals that came in kid's magic kits, my first proper magic book would be Sankey Pankey. My first DVD would be Bill Malone On the Loose! Volume One. (That's how I started doing card magic.)
Some magicians I admire/respect/like are:
Joshua Jay, for his card material and his ability to be successful at a young age
The Bucks, for their flashy style of card magic
Gregory Wilson, for being the magician that really made me laugh out loud at his jokes
David Williamson, for being the next one to make me laugh too
Edward Marlo, for fooling me on his DVD with a Snap Change back then
Jay Sankey, for his book Sankey Pankey
Daryl Martinez, for fuelling my passion in magic
Bill Malone, for his DVD Bill Malone on the Loose!
David Copperfield, for sparking my interest back when I was young
And much more.
I am a journeyman down the road of magic. Join me - one day, we'll make it.
- harapan. magic!
