This is somewhat pointless thread, but i want to hear your opinion about this...

What is with T11 and all those misleading pictures of their effects and 1-on-1's...

Look at the promo picture for Panic, Control, Bluff Pass 1on1, etc.

I was personally a little disappointed with Panic, because of this misleading picture, and i was expecting something else from what i got...

Anybody else has this kind of experience or thinking?

Pictures?

You mean photo stills in the promo videos?

Gustav

EDIT: Oh I see; The images under the video player. Yeah, they are a little misleading, but then again, isn't that what magic is about?

They're just as misleading to laymen. I don't know how much sense Im putting into this, but I agree with Dee.

The point of those promo pictures is to emphasize that the spectators will remember what they think they saw.

Panic is the best example of this I can think of. As far as I'm concerned, that picture isn't misleading at all. I own it, and it was worth every penny. If you were disappointed when you learned a method, then you should maybe rethink why you bought it to begin with. All that matters is the effect, not the method.

With that said, have you ever performed it in front of people?

Yes but the method does help. Like I love eXile but the method killed me. So I made my own effect that mimicks eXile but with a method Im happy with.

Also in a way, think about it.
If they're misleading to us, as people who practice sleight of hand and presentation, then think how misleading it would be to a layman.

I'm not saying that Panic is bad. Panic is a great trick, with insane reactions. I was just hoping that i will be able to do those stuff that the pictures are showing, and apparently, I am not. So it is disappointing from that aspect. The trick by it self is not disappointing at all...

I hope I was clear enough this time :)

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, you ARE doing what is in the photo's.

Lol, tbh, once you've performed it a couple of hundred times you ARE spreading the cards. If you believe what you're doing is real it's alot easier for the audience too!

I'm doing it in the eyes of the audience, but I'm not actually doing it, if you know what I mean... :)

I definitely see where Toby's coming from.

For example, if you wanted to do a routine before Panic, with the same deck, you couldn't. You couldn't just pop Panic in on the go as you're performing. You couldn't dribble the cards about, flourish, hand it around etc. and go into it...

I understand fully what Toby's saying about the misleading pictures, I thought the same thing the other day.

With that said, I love Panic. It's one of my favourite card effects.

In the not to distant future
if you are worried about panic, there are so many different "routines" to show the deck full and real. four - available here would allow a perfect deck switch. or do any four card routine like the asher twist and such. i didnt find the picture misleading at all.
