hello everybody!!

I think I created something but first I would like to know If has been done before...

The trick is simple..a card is signed and shuffled into the deck..then it´s handed to the spectator and he deals any number of cards he desire...and when he decide to stop the last card is the signed selection...no gimmicks, duplicates and it´s impromptu..no setup....pure sleight of hand...

has this been done before?

It's an ACAAN effect. There are lot of solutions for accomplishing an effect like this, your method can be unique and new. By the way, does your method involve palms? If it is not a secret, indeed. Because I came up with the impromptu version involving palms. And the spectator deals the cards, too.

I´ve seen some of them..but this one is different...only when the spectator selects the card is when I touch the deck..the spectator deals the cards...from anywhere from the deck (top, bottom, middle) in any number he desires...

what do you think?

edit: did I mention he can shuffle the deck anytime?

This sounds awesome! Keep working on it Luis. I think you have a powerful effect on your hands.

Sounds like a good ACAAN effect but... from the way you described it. It sounds like a variation of methods used for Open Predictions. Not bad, but I dont feel another ACAAN effect is worth putting out unless its actually very new.

Luseif - That's what I was thinking, Luis, your effect sounds more like an Open Prediction variation than an ACAAN personally. It may be more precise to call it a CAAN effect, but I'd still lean towards the OP plot.

An Open Prediction plot is basically where the magi places a prediction (sometimes names it) before hand. The spectator is given a deck, they deal through the deck face up, dealing one card face down to the side whenever they like. The two cards, of course, match.

What effects would you suggest me to check out in this category (OP)? Sounds very good. And, Luis, you didn't answer my question about palms (read my first post in this thread, but if you do not want to expose, that's totally OK).

Start with Paul Curry, the originator of the plot, Ed Marlo, who was the first to put it in print, and Stewart James, who later altered the plot slightly with his 51 Faces North. From there you should be able to find everything from the classic methods (including what I consider the best) to a wide variety of interesting new methods (the order I gave the names in is important - Stewart James should be the third person you look at, and should lead you into modern attempts at the plot - but first, understand the context of the modern attempts so you don't waste time with largely inferior rehashes - although there are one or two very good modern versions too).
