Hey so I was looking over this essay again, and i noticed that you said:

"This will be directed at the Strolling or Walk Around Performer:"

How would this change if it was for magicians who did like stand up, living room, and stage?

Hi Rneogy!

Typically, for stand-up, living room, and stage I charge per person. And that depends on your level that you're comfortable asking for. If it's a big corporation and there's 400 people there, I have no problem breaking it down to $10 per. That said, you don't want to price yourself out of the home market. If it's for someone's dad's 50th birthday and there's going to be 60 people there, I might drop it down to as low as $5 per.

Your goal as a businessman is to leave no money on the table. That means- get all of it. If all they have is $300, there's no point in charging $400 and not get the gig- thereby getting nothing. And, conversely, if their budget is $4000, don't sell yourself short. The trick is, and this will come with experience, knowing what their max is...

All my best,
