I think I might buy it, but I'm short on cash, and only want to buy things that I know I'll perform. I'm afraid that this might be a little too advanced for me. Can anybody shed any light on how long it takes them to get it, and overall how difficult it is?

One thing I find a little unfair though, is how this is practically the same as Shigeo Futagawa's *Elevator Card - with the exception that the deck is held perpendicular to the standard Dealer's Grip. I'd have really liked to see Kenner's S.W. Elevator, as I think it is a startling routine.

Perhaps Chris himself could shed some light? :)

Jordan

Yeah, I was really disappointed to see that it was so similar. It was nice having an effect that not many people really knew about, but now that it's here... oh well. The end move looks a lot nicer though.

This looks so much better than Fallen in my opinion. Fallen has too much cover, and I really like the openness of Shifty. I think, that whenever a spectator sees you cover a lot, it proclaims that you are doing something tricky. Where as in Shifty everything is open, and there is almost no hand movement (from the spectators view).

He does in the history of the Move in the actual one on one. And gives quite a few references and who else has variations.

Also, this move came out about 20 years prior to "Fallen".

Love,

Another elevating card effect! From the beginning on I loved the video on YouTube in which Teo Jeff makes one card to rise to the top of the deck, and I wanted to learn how to do this stuff. Unfortunately, all these tricks use sort of the same method I guess.

I was very dissapointed when I saw the tutorial for Danny Garcia's Fallen. This stuff is in my oppinion a 'camera trick': stuff which is very angle-sensitive, and thus not very good for performing it for real audience.
Compared to DG's Fallen, is this Shifty trick worth it? Cause it looks very cool again, just like Fallen, but I don't want to be disappointed again! Imagine this question form my view: IMO Fallen is too angle-sensitive. How about Shifty?

Seccond question: what is the best elevator-card-trick out there you think?

Shifty is a billion times better than Fallen. As jordan said, the two methods are worlds apart.

Jeff performs Shigeo Futagawa's Elevator from his Lecture Notes. He also says that in his video description.

This is just one of those effects that gets a little confusing at times, lol. I am fairly certain that both Kenners Shifty and Futagawas Elevator are extremely similar, but we're reached and released independently. Futagawas in his notes and Shifty can be found in Gary Ouellette's fine book The Pass.

Unfortunately I do not yet own a copy of Kenners Totally Out of Control, but plan on ordering the reprint from the folks over at Genii. So I cannot comment on SW Elevator.

For the fella who wanted to know opinions on the best rising card effect. I like Ray Kosby's Raise Rise from Impossible Card Magic. Its a one-handed rise using a method completely different that the ones listed above. Unfortunately it's also one of the most frustrating effects to learn. Even after months and years of practice, I still cannot get this one down right.

I believe that this is the same as SW elevator, and regardless, i'd like to thank theory11 for releasing this.... it has been requested by many people, including myself, and i think i speak for most of them when i say thanks for releasing it...

im not trying to brown-nose, or suck up to T11, im just impressed that they listened to what the people wanted and delivered... im now off to purchase and practice it....

if you too are grateful, why not post a reply:)?
Then, I would like to see the 3cm from kenner...
