Oh my god, 15?
That's ridiculous.
What do his parents think??
4 months of magic and now he's ready to commit?
This might be something that he will grow out of. I've been doing magic for 6 years, and I'm still undecided if I should get a tattoo about magic/cards, because I don't know if I'll grow out of it or not. Probably not, but I don't want to risk it yet.

Tell your friend to wait and hold off with the tattoos for awhile. Plus, he's only 15. Can he handle that kind of pain? My brother's a big guy and he got his tattoo last year when he was 20. He told me it hurt like a *****.

Also, some jobs won't let you work there if you have tattoos showing and can't be covered up.

Most of the guys/girls who have had tattoos for any length of time are more than familiar with their detractors and the misinformation they continuously spread.

Couple of corrections and clarifications:

- Tattoos do not cause Hepatitis C. Unclean conditions and the lack of an autoclave cause the spread of disease and infections.

- Laser removal does NOT cause scarring. Poorly performed laser removal or old lasers cause scarring and leave permanent marks.

- People from all walks of life get tattoos for their own reasons.

Anyways back to the magic.....the ethical and moral great debate has it's place but not here.

In my opinion, he should NOT get a tattoo at that young age in his magic life, and in his "actual" life. If anything, he should just get Stained Skin Tattoos... that's what I did and I'm doing just fine -- if I don't feel like having the tattoo on anymore, I just rub it away :). (As for the tattoo in the mouth, why not just use DG's method of just using a Sharpie to draw it in there instead of having a permanent mark inside youru mouth?)

Just let him "test out" some temporary tattoos (Stained Skin) first and see how it goes... he has three years! THEN he can decide whether he wants to get a PERMANENT tattoo.

Good luck to him!
