Yeah nothing wrong with either of theese sites i like them both and they have some great material. But i think the tricks are advertised more in the way that its one trick you go out and perform and eveyone freaks out and your the king of cool, much like magicians on tv.
Another reason is probably criss angel, he gets alot of hot girls, but its not becaus of his magic. Say what you want about the man, but as a women i can say hes extreamly good looking and hes seems to work out alot to. He would get hot girls anyway.
People always want more vissual, extream and more perrfect tricks to impress people and thats the reason you wont get the reactions you want, becaus your showing them tricks, not entertainment. They might say that the trick were good, but not that you were. The thing you want to hear about your performance is that YOU were amazing, not your tricks, whene you here that you know that your showing them entertainment. And how you do that you can only find out yourself.
