The handling i use now is almost like a push off second deal. Much like the pass the second the hands come together is when I try to execute the sleight.
Another thing I like to do is never let the card register completely with the deck. One thing that I have only recently started to do is leave my right hand stationary after the move and gesture with my left as I am talking to someone to my left. I feel that in the spectators eyes the right hand's card never touched the deck and for the most part was never near the deck either.
