TnR by Mathieu Bich : See the Teaser

I know. It doesn't look restored to me. The last piece seems to be hanging because of saliva or something.
You can hand the card out for inspection. It's been confirmed.

Hey guys. Mathieu's TNR can be used for SO MUCH. His method is pure genius & allows room for plenty of creativity. The routine that Chris teaches on the DVD DOES end clean & allows you to hand the card out at the very end.

And to me, TNR looks one thousand times better than torn because it it done with no cover whatsoever. You simply touch the edges together and it's fused. You can see the card at all times, unlike Garcia's Torn, where there are some points (not that many) where you cover the card or can't clearly see the pieces.

But as of now, Torn is my favorite torn and restored effect. I'm hoping that TNR will replace it (it will if the method is practical enough), because it is hands down the best looking Torn and Restored effect I've seen to date.

sky_lark do you have any idea who mathieu bich is? If you do I can't believe you said no gimmick. Of course it'll have some form of gimmick, but like most of his stuff, you probably make it, which is why 85 minutes DVD.

that freeze frame ... it looks like EKG to me, you can clearly see the p wave, qrs complex, and the t wave.
This TNR looks extremely clean. I'm getting it the first day it comes out.... I have a question, sorry if I missed it elsewhere, can the selected card be signed?

Very true. But that's not necessarily a bad thing; Matthew Bich uses gimmicks like you've never seen before - very creatively.

I thought that I would post this to maybe ease some concerns, or create some new ones :D:
A card is shown, and torn into four pieces. Each piece is individually shown -- front AND back -- and then the restoration.

... You have no idea how clean this effect looks. There is literally NO possibility of you changing the card, as it's in full view of the audience the entire time... and they'll know this. You never move the card, drop it, take it near the deck, etc. It stays at eye level the ENTIRE duration of the effect. We could have literally used the web cam video he sent us as a preview. It's so amazingly clean. It was the first time I'd been amazed as a magician in a loooooong time.

Seriously... when you see this you're going to think it's camera tricks. No doubt in my mind. It looks THAT good. I'm extremely excited we have the chance to offer this to you guys. By far, my favorite effect as of recently.

Don't mean to "hype" the effect, but it's a masterpiece.

Cheers,
JTM

They will release a price when they are ready. You just need to be patient not all products prices are given out before release dates. And maybe if you asked nicely....they may consider.

Wow is the only word needed to describe this effect. It is that visually stunning. Just fantastic. I'm looking forward to its release.

I'm guessing 20$ download, and 30$ DVD (Extra features, and the box art etc. contribute to the 10$ up.)

It looks beautiful, but I still have a lot of big questions I need answered before I decide to buy or not.

- What does the tearing phase look like?
- Is it gimmicked?
- What are the angles like?

I'd also like to know what the difficulty level is like, because right now I'm using T&R Transpo and Torn as my T&R card effects, and I'm really pefectly happy with them. The restoration phase of TnR is, without a doubt, the cleanest I've ever seen. But I'm not quite sure it's going to get any different a reaction out of a laymen that Torn does. I'm also not quite sure I like the kicker ending of the torn card turning into another card. Seems to almost undermind the intention of the effect.

I am most positive its gimmicked like just about all of Mathieu's stuff. But don't worry about the gimmick, they are usually a new concept and extremely clean. And you will probably be able to make it at home.

Someone already asked this but I am going to reinstate it anyways "CAn the Torn and restored card be signed?"

j.bayne said that the change is optional, you can tear up the ace and show the ace, or you can change the card
I wonder if you could tear the ace restore it, show it, and then teara it up again, and restore and then do the change? THat would be pretty cool

No, I don't know who he is. :D

My mistake--I meant no gimmick pre-assembled and sent to you with the DVD.

kaiarz: I THINK it can be signed, but don't ask me.

Hoping someone from t11 can confirm, but I'd say it can not be signed. Not that that makes the effect less impressive. Yeah you are right about no gimmick included, I am willing to bet.

www.mathieubich.com check it out to see his other stuff.

if the effect is a download then it can't be a big or confusing gimmick.

Maybe a lighter because of that picture.

Maybe it is just me but I do not like the way this effect looks. From the teaser it looks like the four pieces are not even lined up perfectly in the end, like they had rubber cement on the edges and they were just stuck to each other. The break in the video between the putting of the pieces together and the showing of the queen suggests that we are not seeing everything that the spectators would see. If what we are not seeing is something like passing the card from one hand to the other then that totally changes how "killer" this effect is.

My two cents is that we have Osmosis, or at least if you own the AoA books you have it, and that is a much more mind blowing effect (it has two cards being torn, linked in a really cool way, torn again, showed to still be linked, torn again, unlinked and restored to two unlinked cards with holes in the middle).

I am reminded of some advice a magician once told me, "We do not need new effects, we have tons of them, we need to learn the ones we have better."

So I will sit this one out. But if you guys are excited about the effect, and feel you really need to know yet another torn and restored card effect to really wow your spectators, than don't let me rain on your parade.
