Why do people accept poor performances of magic just because the performer is female? Anyone else did that video there would be a thousand negative comments.

Wait... she was performing something? *watches vid again* I'm just not seeing it.

Oh, and by the way... I WILL say that the only thing truly provocative about this thread is the title. If this had not been billed as something sexual (which, let's face it, is exactly what we all thought when we saw the word "mature") then we probably wouldn't be having this debate in the first place. This probably should have been titled something like, "Hey, I didn't know Katie was a model!" or something like that.

its a freaking magic site... so no IT DOESN'T. Exactly how many "mature eyes" do you think are going through this... and how many immature eyes do you think will be mature enough to say "hmmm im only 12, I wont click that because it says mature eyes only and thats not me." please

i dont think theres very many 12 year olds or under who would be on the internet without knowing what they should and shouldent look at and if they dont im sure there parents would be watching them..

thats just my take on it

Oh wow... don't mean to pick a fight, but this statement is a little naive. When I was twelve, I lived to do things my parents didn't want me to, and I was good at making sure they didn't find out I was doing it. Looking at things on the internet was NOT one of those things, mind you, but still... twelve-year-olds are not frequently well-behaved individuals.

you don't have kids do you? or work with kids? I'm not saying that to tease or pick on you... I'm really just thinking about the actual frequent users of the forum... probably between 10 and 15 on average I would guess. Mature eyes? Anyways I've said what I needed to and never expected anyone else to agree with me. It does disappoint me but its just how I feel. The question is the responsibility of t11 to not only the kids... but the parents. You don't have to understand what I'm saying about this, I think the t11 business guys will get what I'm getting at. No real good can come from it... but thats just my morals I guess.

Grrrrrrr

FYI… Katie is my girlfriend. I have and will continue to support her in every way possible in her personal life, her business, in magic, dance, or for that matter any other performing art. She is one of the sweetest people on the earth and is a great inspiration to anyone that she meets.

Katie is a very beautiful girl that is interested in magic. I hope that you do not expect that she dress in a tuxedo and try to be like one of the guys. Let her be what she is.

The pictures linked to this thread are done in very good taste and are not even close what is seen in PG movies or to the reveling outfits worn by magic assistants in shows that are geared towards children. Next thing you know there will be a thread talking about movies like E.T., Shrek, Harry Potter, Casper, etc. These films, all of which were rated PG, straddle – brilliantly – the adult-kid chasm. You can be the most jaded adult or the most innocent first-grader and enjoy each of these movies. Yet each of these movies contains sexy visuals and dialogue that is far more adult than our site will probably ever have. Dialogue like “penis breath” and “douche bag” from E.T., “piss off” and “this sucks” from Casper, “blow me” and “fat ass” from Harry Potter, and a smattering of “damns”, “asses” and “hells” from the whole lot. I mean have you seen Charlie’s Angels the movie or Baywatch on TV. Give me a break.

This is one of the most forward thinking positive magic sites EVER and I hope it will continue to stay that way. Excuse Theory11 for trying break the top-hat and tails stereotype.

To be honest with you I hate it when I read ANY negative posts from anonymous people. If you are going to post something that may hurt a someones feelings or possibly damage their reputation the least you could do is sign your real name at the end of the post.

magicmagicmagic that means you!!!!!!

i see where you coming from, im gonna try to reword it,
now its not like the title was check out these babe pictures or something to that effect at least justin had the decency to put something of a warning. and if a 12 year old (or younger) happened to click on it its not like its straight up xxx or something like that there classy photos wit zero nuditiy, there is much worse on tv and definatley on the internet that a kid could come across. And im sure if the staff at t11 thought they were inappropriate for the website this thread would be gone.

Wow, I'm not even touching that... it speaks volumes for itself.

As for who I am? i am a no body, a hobbyist, besides why would it matter? If my name was Jason or Mark what would it matter? If it makes you feel any better then...

magicmagicmagic = Jonathan

and i would like to add... it was NEVER my intentions to hurt Katie... i think shes a cool girl and Chris your a lucky man, go check the last pm i sent her a while back. Also, I never said they were not good. ONLY that i felt this was an inappropriate place to put them due to the frequency of youth here. I can completely understand your need to defend her and in a PM she actually defended herself quite well as well. But much like buying a house... location is everything. T11 can be and is forward thinking to an nth degree, which is fine... but are the parents of your customer as forward thinking as you? anyways, you know what I'm trying to say and it is not out of malice I assure you.

Jonathan "magicmagicmagic" no last name

Signing your full name means more then you think. I have been personally attacked and judged on the internet for years by people with names like "Darthmagic", "coinstar", "therealsuperman" that are only repeating things and judging me before understanding the real facts or listening to the other side. When I meet these people in person and figure out who they are they NEVER say the mean spirited things that they say as their log-in name. It is much harder to judge knowing that you may be judged yourself.

Chris Kenner

PS. Still waiting for that last name.....

Chris... Seriously I'm just a youth worker from Florida, I'm not a professional nor will I ever be. I love what I do. I have never been to a magic convention in my life and probably never will. I'm not going to post my last name, its the internet and I'm not comfortable with that, I'm sorry. PLEASE understand that no statement towards you nor katie was to EVER be interpreted as mean spirited. If that is the case I do extremely apologize for the hurt feelings. I came across the site via one of the kids I work with and have always loved magic even if just as a hobby. I by no way shape or form am trying to make a situation like the other people you listed I assure you.

response to the post below... I was never trying to criticize anything that was done other than the post on the forum. When the first picture was leaked and was on her myspace I didn't say anything because it was her myspace and was set to private and is in her hands. However, being on the forum does make me uncomfortable given the regulars that frequent the threads... I hope this is understandable and you can see where I'm coming from. I was thrilled to see a female representing T11 magic and doing a great job at it by the way, her xcm and 3fly videos I thought were really good. I just want the younger ones to know her for that first and for-most... talent. Katie, you are really talented and deserve major props.

I would hope that you will think very very very hard the next time you post anything that is criticizing anything or anyone when you do not even feel comfortable putting your name to your opinion.

Until then lets push this art to a new level.

Someone needs to know the rating system.

In USA, the age limits are higher for most things.

I must say, seeing a woman in a bra and knickers is not offensive, and is no way wrong. You see it in professional adverts in train stations, bus stops, all over the world. If you think this is wrong, sick, or not for children's eyes.

Change your thought of mind, show business is about being sexy for women. Why do you think most stage magicians have sexy assistants.

Sorry, magicmagicmagic.

You brought this on yourself. Now, I know you are "i am a no body, a hobbyist," but you posted not only your opinion, but you set yourself up as "moral crusader" with that battle cry of "Think of the children!"

I've stated this before: I am a 44 year old male with an eleven year old child. I have no qualms for my son, my parents, my grandparents, hell, my great grandparents to see these pics. And the fact that if your gf saw those pics and would get mad makes me feel very sorry for you. My gf would not only love them, she'd want to pose too. :)

One of the things art (photography and magic both included) are meant to do is make you wonder and think. Sometimes, it gives you a reflection of yourself by your reaction to the art.

You chose to be a moral lone crusader. You chose to click on the links. You interpreted the photos in your way. Now, you have every right to post your opinion, but realize that it is only your opinion. Just like this post is my opinion. Take it or leave it.

I don't mean to flame you, if I do, I apologize, but you should see that the stance you took is (again, my humble opinion,) a) unneccesary, b) asking for attention, c) agruementative.

As to your arguement about "children can see this", let them. Sorry, but the human body and human sexuality is a PART of being human. Children will look no matter how much one "protects" them. You stated that yourself. And this is certainly not porno.

In the end, sex will not corrupt people but people's judgements on other people will.

Katie, Homer, Chris, the pics are beautiful. Tasteful, provocative and yes, sexy. They do both arts justice.

And again, I do not mean to flame you, Jonathan, but you asked for it. And you never stood to Chris' challenge.

I do.

Again, this is all my opinion. Take it or leave it.

I am also a nobody and a hobbiest, but I am a Dad with a loving son and wonderful parents.

I am J.Frank Anastasio.

I find it quite odd that everybody is missing the complete point of his post.

His point is not a matter of what he or you find acceptable or not...it's what the potential parents of others may find acceptable on a free and open site. It is irrelevant what can be seen walking down the street, on television, in a theatre, whatever.

However, not wanting to add fuel to an already blazing fire that has even dragged Mr Kenner onto the forum to show his displeasure (although I have to say that I found myself most incredulous of his posts), I will say only this:

Ms Egleston, those are very nice photographs...you should be very proud of them. I tried to re-create one of them myself this morning but it failed miserably for several reasons:

1) I'm not as attractive as your good self
2) I couldn't really fit into my girlfriends stockings and suspenders and I fear I may have ruined them
3) I couldn't find a golden gun for love nor money and I really don't think an airbrushed hoover attachment had the same effect

Rabid.

(And no, that is not my real name, however it's far quicker to type than Theophilus Bernhard Weston-Smythe II)

Hi Theophilus Bernhard Weston-Smythe II. I love your name. Much better than mine. My name sounds like I got the answer wrong on "The Price is Right". Listen: "frAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnk" :)

Honestly, I may have missed that point in magicmagicmagic's posts, but he came out with guns blazing. His first post wasn't about "how parents might object to having their children see this", his first post was

but seriously am I the only mature person on this forum? I'm really starting to see the moral indecency so tightly affiliated with t11. I am very disappointed in this thread, in katie, in the bucks, and the rest of the T11 staff.

Katie... there are kids that really thought your xcm was impressive because they rarely if ever see a woman doing fantastic card manipulations... however that impression is now gone and lost to a group of eager youth that now see you as a piece of meat.

which opened up the sticks and stones being thrown. He has backpeddled from there, in my humble opinion, when everyone, including Katie and Chris themselves confronted him.

So if he simply meant, "hey guys, I don't want to seem confrentational, but is this really the right place for this? I mean, parents might not want their children to see this." Then he would've said it in a nicer, less confrentational way.

Instead, he came out and set himself up as the "only mature person" and the one who sees the "moral indecency so tightly affiliated with t11." Stood proudly alone but then pulled away and changed his position as soon as the real big guns came out.

Sorry, again, all this is simply my opinion, but that is why his point was lost.

Dunno what to think of those pictures.
Sure. Some would say they are made because of the "art".
Some would say they are made to get male drooling.

As for me.. I ask myself why this is in the "General Magic Diskussion" board.

Point taken...just that some of the posts were literally nothing other than flame fanners and

Couldn't agree more...except for the spelling of Discussion, but let's not have arguement...I happen to always type 6" as 11"....jsut can't seem to stop it happening.

Amen to that. I thought the pictures were tasteful and well within reason. Seriously you can walk through a mall and see more revealing pictures than those that were shown here. I cringe more watching TV and seeing ads for ED and those absorbing things with wings while my kids are sitting next to me, way much more so than watching some Victoria's Secret commercial.

Nice photos Katie I thought they looked great personally and very well done by Homer.
